In
1997, Corky's FREEDOM banner was flown to Europe, where
it was taken on a wonderful and well organised journey,
visiting 6 cities in 5 countries. The tour began in Berlin,
then proceeded on to Hamburg, Vienna, Zurich, London, and
finally Dublin. Crowds of children and adults thronged every
venue. A huge success, the tour reached a dramatic climax
when 500 Irish school children came out to a remote beach
near Dublin in wild weather, holding onto Corky's banner
despite torrential rain, hail & gale force winds. The
tour helped Corky's story gain wide public exposure in Europe
via numerous television, radio & print stories. A detailed
account follows on the succeeding pages.
